Google Instant: "The Third Half of Your Brain!"

NY Times: Google Unveils Tool to Speed Up Searches 9/9/10

Google has introduced "Google Instant," which "predicts internet search queries and shows results as soon as someone begins to type." They say they want to make Google "the third half of your brain." Although there are some glitches in the new addition to the search engine, the tool is supposed to cumulatively save us more than 3.5 billion seconds each day and it is supposed to be more convenient as results can be adjusted as new search words are listed. This invention reminded me of the never ending process of design -- we always need to be brainstorming, inventing, and creating new concepts, processes, designs, and products as the times change and as people's (and the environment's) needs change. These days, time is money, and the invention and innovation of new, better, more practical products is an ongoing project.
